I began my yoga journey in 2016 when I walked past a yoga studio and decided to give it a try. One class, and I was hooked! I knew then I wanted yoga to be a regular part of my life. After a few months, an instructor at the studio encouraged me to take a 40-hour teacher training. The training really shifted my view of yoga as a hobby to a lifestyle. I began instructing at the studio and teaching newcomers the foundations of yoga. I loved seeing how yoga changed my students and made a difference in their lives. This inspired me to want to deepen my understanding of yoga and mindfulness.
After taking a short break from yoga to give birth, I found getting back into my practice difficult. My body had changed and I was struggling with postpartum depression. I searched for a way to use yoga to heal my mind, body, and spirit. I discovered healing through Buti Yoga, and in 2018, I obtained my 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Buti Yoga. The pieces of me I never knew were missing were replaced.
My practice is all about creating a safe space for women to learn about themselves through movement. I hope to create a sisterhood of women who support one another on and off the mat. I hope by sharing my practice, I can help other women embrace their femininity and experience this Shakti awakening.
